a A controlled animal study demonstrated the effect of hydroxocobalamin in CN-poisoned adult dogs that experienced cardiovascular recovery (characterized by increases in blood pressure) 1 to 3 minutes after initiation of infusion. The 75-mg/kg and 150-mg/kg doses used are approximately equivalent to 5 g and 10 g of hydroxocobalamin in humans.
